Coach Biography

Janine Pearson

This is Janine Pearson's fourteenth season with the Stratford Festival where she is Head of Voice and a full-time instructor in its Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training. She recently enjoyed eight years in Montreal as Head of Voice and associate Artistic Director of the English acting and playwriting programme of the National Theatre School of Canada under the direction of Perry Schneiderman. She has taught and given workshops across Canada, in the U.S.A. and in England. She has coached with the Grand Theatre, the Montreal Young Company, Canadian Stage and Modern Times. Janine founded the Voice Care and Development Workshop for Educators (Stratford). Recent film credits include Canada: A People's History (CBC/Radio Canada). Janine holds an advanced diploma in voice studies (Central School of Speech and Drama, London), a BMus and a BFA (University of Regina), and associate diploma in singing (University of Alberta) and singing and language studies at the Humboldt Institut (Ratzenried, Germany).


Patrick Garrow
Since graduating from the National Theatre School a decade ago, Patrick has worked extensively onstage, in film and television and on the voiceover circuit. This past year in film and television Patrick acted in SIXTEEN BLOCKS, ANGELA’S EYES, STATE WITHIN, THIS IS WONDERLAND and MISSING.  Shakespeare has been a treasured constant; last year’s COMEDY OF ERRORS with Festival of Classics marked his twentieth such production. Other theatres involved in this pentameter romp include Stratford, Centaur, Shakespeare by the Sea, HurlyBurly, Theatre New Brunswick and The Globe in London, England where Patrick was an International Resident during the 2003 season working with such masterful inhabitors of the text as John McEnery and Mark Rylance. Some of the most memorable challenges along the way include Henry V, Petruchio, Edgar, Marc Anthony, Gower, Angelo and Lady Macbeth.  Patrick has led two Shakespeare Projects, Shakespeare for Teens, taught On-Camera Scene Study Level 1 and Private Coaching.
