Audition Technique: Overview

Actors develop and hone their film and television audition techniques using typical TV, MOW and film scenes. Anthony demystifies the audition process by breaking it into its three constituent parts, identifying the challenges inherent in each part and introducing tools to overcome those challenges. The class aims to empower actors to simply walk in the room with confidence, do their jobs and leave with their heads high, ready for the next audition. Your work will be recorded on DVD.

Anthony on Audition Technique:

"I think the key to teaching audition technique is teaching respect for the process of auditioning and for the process of growth that every actor, every person, undergoes. Take your best shot, be sincere and walk away with dignity. Have the dignity to be prepared, have the dignity to understand that a mistake isn't a failure, have the dignity to value what it is that you can give right now, no matter where you feel you are in your journey as an artist. Find the pleasure, the value in simply auditioning, because for most of us, that is a significant chunk of the work that we do as actors. Understand that auditioning takes courage. The courage to let your guard down and play in front of a panel of (mostly) strangers. These are the skills we develop as auditioners, as actors."

"I took Anthony's class and it helped demystify the audition process. Anthony's energy, enthusiasm and knowledge of craft brought out the best in my performance. I would highly recommend Anthony's class."
