Centre for the Arts

This class is an acting class with special focus on the voice. Whether you are working on the stage or in front of a camera the essence of all good acting work is one's unimpeded connection to impulse and the communication that comes as a result. Voice work supports the actor in accessing this connection through their body and breath. This class doesn't treat: Diction, Accents, Microphone Technique, Enunciation, Pronounciation or Speech per se. For the professional actor with no experience in voice work this class will begin the conscious work on that important part of your actor's instrument. This class will work with simple principles that are practised by the advanced student of learning or the beginner. Actors may bring in prepared speeches from Shakespeare, film screenplays or plays.
