They say the close up is the money shot.
In television it certainly is the size that we see the most. Talking heads, they call it.
Learn to use the time of rehearsal, blocking, master and medium shots to choose what you’ll do in the close up.
Note where your emotional connection is producing a move that will play well in tight. You’ll learn there is enough time prior to the close up to get yourself ready for it.
Realize that they won’t use much of the master or medium sizes. It’s like good rehearsal time.
You don’t want to be surprised when the close-up comes and you’re playing too big.
