Understanding requires participation.

Practice first and then the brain will catch up with the idea.

When a scene goes well try not to remember what you did to get there, just keep practicing well over a long period of time and you will have assimilations.

Practicing well includes consciousness (the brain working well), and having the experience instead of trying to understand. That is key.

Within the word actor is the word act. And it is in this act of finding out that one learns. 

You can’t understand before you have had the experience.
